Incubating Fashion in Korea
Saturday, December 25, 2010
I was window shopping at Plaza Singapura and discovered this shop from Korea called "Level 5". The shop was unfortunately closed and I couldn't go in to look at its clothes. I visited the site and spent quite some browsing it.There was this cool online magazine in the site that featured various designers. I have no idea whether the designers are from Korean designers or from other countries though. Do check out its oh so cool interactive magazine powered by issue.com! Level 5 in Myeong dong's Noonsquare Shopping Mall is a special floor dedicated to the young and talented designers. A shop called "Lab 5" is created for these rising independent designers to display their merchandise. The shop was even shown on MBC channel's Variety show "Wonder Woman". I really like how Korea supports its young and rising designers by giving them so many opportunities to display their talents! Singapore should have more of such concepts. So far, I only know Parco Marina in Singapore as the only place that gathers Singaporean designers. More on Lab 5 tenants soon! Watch this space :) Credits: http://levelfive.co.kr/, http://www.hoyasnap.com/292 Labels: Design, Fashion, Korea shopping Comments
