Peaceful Streets of Shinsadong
Thursday, October 28, 2010
I've always preferred street shopping compared to shopping malls that Singapore does not lack of and disappointingly, Singapore does not have many interesting street shops except some in Haji lane.  So everytime when I'm overseas, I would take the chance to explore the streets and alleys to discover unique shops. I guess visual appeal plays an important part in my life!

Shinsadong in Gangnam of Seoul which is a great place to chill at the coffee shops and gaze at chic boutiques is similar to Japan's Aoyama. There has been a rise of cute coffee shops, fashion boutiques and arty farty art galleries springing up at places such as Samcheongdong, Hongdae, and Garosugil in Korea. The pictures shall do the talking here.

Ain't the shops so pretty?

I absolutely love the way each shop is designed, it makes me happy to just visit the shop even if I come out empty handed! It seems like a quiet place to walk around and do some window shopping.

MMMG is a well known stationery shop in Korea that sells lots of cute and quirky stationery designed by local designers. Most importantly, the stationery are also very affordable!

AND UP Bagazimuri carries clothes which are fun, feminine and cute. Its store appearance has a more clean and minimalistic look.

While the girlfriend shops, the boyfriend could make himself home by resting at a side.

Best thing is, each shop is full of surprises as you never know what you might expect to see at every turn!
