Little shops in Doota #1
Tuesday, August 24, 2010
I've personally been to Korea twice, once when I was only in primary school and the last time I've been there was two years ago. Doota(literally a shopping paradise to me) in Dongdaemun left me a great impression because of its countless little shops with pretty layouts and clothes that I can go crazy over just by looking at them! I then grew very interested in Doota and started researching on it when I came back to Singapore. Doota is a little like Korea's version of Far East Plaza in Singapore except bigger! It'll probably take me more than 2 hours to explore just doota alone. Pity I was only given 2 hours to shop at Dong dae mun which is filled with many wholesale malls and markets. I shall not elaborate further on Dong dae mun since I'm going to zoom in on to Doota's shops instead.
Shopping in Doota can be pretty pricy especially at the first level, home to designers in Korea, whereas at B1, the young designers level, you can find items at friendlier prices. Expect better quality items compared to the other wholesale places but you won't be able to haggle prices. Its a great place to go window shopping or eye shopping (koreans' way of saying window shopping) if you are do not want to spend money.
